Market Position Statement for Adult Learning Disability Services 2014 - This consultation has now ended

The Learning Disability Market Position Statement (MPS) is aimed at Adult Social Care providers and people with learning disabilities who use care and support services in Newcastle. The main objectives of the MPS are:
  • to show what services are currently on offer in the City, and
  • what we think they should look like in the future
We have included the views of service providers, service users, and carers in the document. The purpose of this consultation is to check if the MPS achieves its objectives. Does it show what is on offer at present, and give a clear statement about what we think services should look like in future?
We would like to hear from service providers, service users, carers about this. Members of the public are also welcome to give their views.
You can make your comments publicly here on the Let’s Talk website, or directly by email to Susan Djouama, Commissioning Officer: susan.djouama@newcastle.gov.uk. The deadline for comments is 29 August 2014.
What happens next
Following the consultation, the final MPS will be posted on the Adult Services Commissioning page of the Newcastle City Council website: http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/adult-social-care/adult-services-commissioning. It is also available by contacting Susan Djouama.
The MPS is a live document, and it will be reviewed at least twice a year with the Learning Disabilities Provider Forum to ensure it is kept up to date. Any major changes will be publicly consulted on through Let’s talk Newcastle Online.
