We are updating the Tyne & Wear Cycling Maps and need your help to make sure we capture all the recent changes. The topic wall is here for you to note your updates and to be able to read those noted by others to avoid duplication of effort.
Some things have changed since the last editions of the Tyne & Wear Cycling Maps were published and we are hoping that you will share your local knowledge of those changes with us. This is not about making a wish list of what we would like to see, we are hoping to create a true reflection of the environment for cyclists that exists now. Changes we are already planning to make include:
- Removing all bike hire locations other than The Cycle Hub because Scratchbikes are no longer operating.
- Removing all cycle parking markers because they crowd the map (we are carrying out a survey of all City Centre cycle parking in the next few months and will publish the results).
- Up-to-date mapping of the Great Park.
Are there other changes that need to be made? Please have a look at the current cycle maps either on line or hard copy and using the reference numbers at the side, send us a note of the grid reference, a line or two about the location and the change that needs to be made to the map.
