Great North Cycleway - Proposed improvements to Market Steet / Pilgrim Street 2015 - This consultation has now ended

Market Street and Pilgrim Street Improvements
Market Street and Pilgrim Street will see the next section of improvements to the Great North Cycleway in Newcastle, linking the Tyne Bridge to John Dobson Street as part of a regional route from Blyth to Darlington.  
The proposed package of benefits and improvements to Market Street and Pilgrim Street include: 
• new and improved road crossings making it safer and easier for pedestrians 
• segregated two-way cycle track making it safer and easier for cyclists
• new, more efficient traffic light junctions, keeping traffic moving
• new road and footpath surfaces
• cycle parking 
• improved bus stop areas
