Licensing and entertainment in Newcastle (Licensing Policy Review 2018 – 2023) - This consultation has now ended

We want to hear your views about how premises which sell alcohol and provide entertainment in Newcastle operate. We would also like to hear what you think about takeaways that sell hot food after 11pm.
Newcastle City Council is reviewing its approach to the regulation of premises that sell alcohol and those that premises open late as part of the night time economy.  We recognise the importance of residents' and businesses' views and the potential impact licensing can have on your quality of life.
We want to find out if you think there are too many or not enough of these premises in the area that you live and in the city centre, and afford you the opportunity to comment on their hours of trade, operating style and any other concerns and opinions you may have.
It is crucial that our policies on licensing reflect your views, so we also want to know how best we can engage and involve you on an ongoing basis. Here is a short video about this.

Please take a few minutes to answer the questions below. The information that you give us will be kept confidential.

  • Section 1 is about the area / neighbourhood you live in
  • Section 2 is about the City Centre
  • Section 3 are general questions

This consultation will close on 30 September 2017
If you need this information in another format or language, please contact:
