This consultation ended on 8 March 2019.
As part of the Government’s strategy to increase the number of trips made on foot or by cycle, Newcastle City Council is developing a local walking and cycling network plan. A significant amount of work has already been undertaken in Newcastle to identify core walking and cycling networks, however this has been mainly focused in central areas of Newcastle. Consequently, we have very detailed ideas for parts of the City and few ideas in other areas. Through this consultation we hope to consolidate work undertaken to date, but also to get the views of those communities where the local aspirations for walking and cycling are not as clearly understood. This will help us gain a better understanding of the local day to day journeys made by walking and cycling, and how these can be improved in the future.
