We're trialling some changes that will reduce the amount of traffic cutting through Beatty Avenue, Sturdee Gardens and the adjacent streets.
This consultation concluded on 13th August 2023.
The junction of Beatty Avenue and Studee Gardens onto Jesmond Dene Road will be made narrower. This means there is less distance for people to cross the road and will help to reduce vehicle speeds, making the area safer for all road users. ‘Keep Clear’ road markings will be painted on the carriageway on Jesmond Dene Road to allow residents to turn in and out of Beatty Avenue & Sturdee Gardens more easily.
