Gateshead and Newcastle Councils have prepared “Planning for the Future: Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan for Gateshead and Newcastle - Submission Document”. This Plan sets out the strategic spatial planning policy framework for Gateshead and Newcastle. The Plan includes:
- a spatial vision and strategic objectives;
- a spatial strategy;
- plan-wide policies;
- policies specific to the Urban Core and its Sub-Areas;
- strategic allocations policies; and
- a monitoring and implementation framework.

Representations are invited on “Planning for the Future: Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan for
Gateshead and Newcastle - Submission Document” for a period of six weeks beginning on 9
September 2013 and ending on 21 October 2013.
