Sustainable Transport Proposals - Gosforth Drop In 2 April 2025

A drop in event where you can view drawings and talk to staff about proposals to improve walking, wheeling, cycling and bus journeys in Gosforth and Great North Road.

What we propose
We have been working on developments to connect the north-bound bus route between the Great North Road and Regent's Centre and on a package of active travel improvements around the High Street area. We would like to invite you to have your say on these proposals. We propose to install new sections of bus lane to connect existing sections together to improve the reliability of buses, also new measures to improve cycle routes to the High Street and, alongside this, pedestrian safety improvements with new crossings and some widened footways to help you move around the city.
Where you can see our plans
You can see these plans at this event on: Wednesday 2 April from 3 until 6pm at Trinity Church, High Street, Gosforth (access through the café).
The plans can also be viewed online from Wednesday 26 March at: Bus Service Improvement Plan and at Let's talk Newcastle - BSIP Central Gosforth 2025 or in person at the other drop-in sessions on Monday 7 April – 5 till 8pm – in Café 1901, Trinity Church, High Street, Gosforth.
