We want to hear your views on our budget proposals for 2016-17. Councils are legally required to set a balanced budget at the start of every year to meet financial responsibilities. Our budget proposals for this year describe how we will achieve the savings of £30 million which we must make in 2016-17.
What we would like you to do
Please read the Budget Report 2016/17 to receive information on our proposals, then give us your views by taking part in the consultation. You can do this by deciding which service you would like to comment on (for example, Adult Social Care), then filling in the short survey for that survey. You can comment on as many services as you want to.
We cannot reply to all pieces of feedback we receive, but we will include a summary of what people have told us in the final consultation report, which will be published on our website in spring 2016.
What's happening
Our consultation runs from 2 December 2015 to 31 January 2016, and the council’s Cabinet will consider the Budget 2016-17 documents, which are:
- Detailed budget proposals summary 2016-17
- Appendix 1 – Revenue and capital plan 2016-17
- Appendix 2 – Summary of proposed investment in services 2016-17
- Appendix 3 – Summary of proposed cuts and reductions to services 2016-17
