Voluntary and Community Sector Infrastructure 2017 - This consultation has now ended

UPDATE 25TH OCTOBER: After considering all the feedback received on these services, we are now publishing our final commissioning model for the future service. You can read the document here: VCS Infrastructure Commissioning Model
Between June and October 2017 the Council undertook stakeholder consultation to review the Voluntary Sector (VCS) infrastructure support that it invests in, and what this infrastructure support should look like in the future.
The consultation is now closed. If you have any questions about the future contract or you need this information in another format, such as large print, please contact Laura Choake laura.choake@newcastle.gov.uk

Background
Newcastle City Council currently commissions:

  • a voluntary and community group support service which supports organisations across the city, including charities, community groups, social enterprises and foundations, on areas such as HR, finance, bid writing and policy advice.
  • a volunteer service which supports individuals to find volunteer opportunities and organisations to find volunteers.
As part of our commissioning cycle, we are reviewing what out contracts should look like now and in the future to best support local community and voluntary groups, and volunteers, in an ever-changing operating context. Earlier this year we held two events to get your views, one on 7 June, and the second on 8 June, with people also giving their comments via a topic wall on Let's talk Newcastle.
Thank you for giving us your views.
