Supporting Carers in Newcastle 2018 - This consultation has now ended

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid care and support to a family member, partner, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help. This could be because of disability, illness, frailty. mental ill health or alcohol or drug problems. The care provided may be personal, emotional, physical or supervisory (keeping an eye on someone to make sure they are okay). It does not include any caring or support activities done as part of someone's paid or voluntary work, but it does include people who receive Carers Allowance

Many people do not see themselves as carers, but if the description above applies to you then you probably are one.
Newcastle City Council are working together with NHS Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group to review the provision of services and support for carers across the whole of the city.
This survey is one of the ways we are working with carers and services supporting them to find out more about this and we greatly appreciate you taking the time to give us your views by completing this online survey. Your participation, and the information you have provided has enabled us develop a new service specification to support unpaid carers of all ages looking after someone living in Newcastle who couldn't manage without their help.

We are currently tendering for that service which is expected to go live on 1 November 2018.
