What does 'good' home care in Newcastle look like? - This consultation has now ended

Newcastle has an increasing older population, many of whom have complex needs. Some older people need services to help them to live independently. We know that traditional approaches to care and support are often not the most efficient and, in some cases, do not have the most positive impact on people’s lives. The council is looking at the way we support older people and are seeking the views of people, partners and providers, across the Health and Social Care sector to change the care and support offer we have in the city. This ambitious transformation of adult social care will work towards achieving efficiencies across the system, while we continue to provide the highest possible level of care and support. In 2020/21 we will work with people who use services, their families and our providers to  develop a new home care offer for the City.
